Short Cuts:

1) Flickr’s Account and Picture Set | 2) Flickr’s Groups | 3) Posting Photos

1) Setting up a Flickr’s Account and Picture Set

Setting up a Flickr’s account is simple and is a great way to organize and share your photos.

Step 1:

Sign into Flickr with your Yahoo Account.

Under the heading “Make a new Flickr account” enter your Yahoo Account and then select “Create A New Account”
Step 2:
Now that you are logged into Flickr, click on “Upload your first photo (or video)” to start uploading your pictures.

Select the “basic Uploader” option

Browse your computer for the photos to upload, add a tag to the whole batch and then click UPLOAD.
Step 3:
Once the uploading process has been completed, you will be directed to the “describe your upload” page. You can add some additional information to the pictures – when you are ready, scroll down and select SAVE THIS BATCH
Step 4:
Now that your pictures have been uploaded to your Flickr account, you can organize a group of pictures into a set. To create a set, click on the “You” tab and select the “Your Sets”.

Since you have not create a set yet, click on the “go to the Organizr”

Step 5:
Drag and drop your photos from the bottom to the middle of the screen. You can also add a title and a description to the set of pictures – then click SAVE.

There you have it – a set of your event’s pictures that others can easily comment on and you can share!

2) Joining the Name Tag Experience Flickr Group

Sharing your picture sets on the Name Tag Experience Flickr’s Group.

Step 1:
Name Tag Experience will send you an invite to join the Name Tag Experience Flickr group.
Step 2:
Once you’ve accepted the invitation, you’ll see the photos currently being shared in the Name Tag Experience Flickr’s group. To add your pictures/photos click on the “Add photos or video” link.
Step 3:
Since you’ve already created a picture set, click on the drop down list and select your set – in this example “Fishing Derby 2008″.

Click on the pictures you’d like to add to the Name Tag Experience Group – these pictures will be added to the right and click the “ADD TO GROUP” button.
Step 4:
Success! Your pictures have been added to the Name Tag Experience Flickr’s Group. To visit or share the Flickr’s Group visit http://www.flickr.com/groups/nametags

3) Sharing your Flickr Photos on Name Tag Experience

Sharing your picture sets on Name Tag Experience.

Step 1:
Visit the Flickr Badge page. By default the badge style is set to HTML – keep this setting and click on “NEXT: CHOOSE CONTENT”.
Step 2:
On the 2nd step, select “Yours” and then “Public content from one of your sets:” In this example the Fishing Derby 2008 set, that we set up earlier, is used.
Step 3:
The default settings for setting up a badge will work, but we recommend making two minor changes:

1) Change the “How many items would you like to show?” to 5

2) Change the “Which orientation would you like?” to Horizontal.
Step 4:
Keep everything the same on this step and proceed forward to get your code.
Step 5:
Click on the code box and copy the content.
Step 6:
After logging into Name Tag Experience select the option “Create a New Post”. Make sure that the post method is in “HTML” mode and NOT “Visual”. Enter the title, tags, categories you’d like to use for your blog post and in the body of the post, paste the coding generated for you from Flickr.

You can click on “Preview this Post” to see what your blog post will look like – once it is formatted the way that you’d like click “Publish”.
Step 7:
Your blog post is now live on Name Tag Experience!
