You may have seen the previous post about our soon-to-be launching of three new websites, all under the parent company of Coller Industries, and be wondering, “I thought this was Name Tag, Inc. What in the world is Coller Industries?”

Well, let me explain.

Although Name Tag, Inc. is here to stay, we are re-branding ourselves too. For us, it’s all about expansion, which in turn, only serves our customers better. In other words, Coller Industries will be the parent company of Name Tag, Inc. and all of our other websites.

While you will continue to experience the best customer care and quality as you do, you will also experience more focus. This focus will allow us to show you our specific product lines, cultivating the space for growth within each.

So don’t worry one bit–the high-quality personal identification products you know are here to stay, and will only get better.

We are very excited to announce the recent creation of not one, not two–but three new websites! It may seem like a lot, but it’s simple stuff, really.

Name Tag, Inc. now falls under the new parent company of Coller Industries, led by Founder and CEO, Clyde Coller. The three new websites will serve the following purposes:

1. Coller Industries: The hub for the new parent company.

2. CI Name Tags: The same quality name tag products you’re used to.

3. CI Lanyards: One-stop source for everything lanyard!

These three new websites will soon be unveiled in all their personal identification glory! Our valued newsletter subscribers will be the first to know when the special launches happen. Stay tuned!

Name Tag, Inc. will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2011 in observance of Labor Day.

We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, September 6.

Due to the unfortunate effects of Hurricane Irene on the east coast, Name Tag Inc.’s ribbon production is currently impacted.

All Continuous Ribbon Rolls, Full Color Ribbons, and Custom Rosette Ribbons are NOT available for order until the end of this week (September 2) at the earliest.

However, our Custom Imprinted Ribbons are still available for order.

We apologize for any inconveniences, and look forward to doing business with our customers during this trying time.

We are very excited to announce that we just launched a new section of our website for the sole purpose of catering to our education customers. The education community is a substantial market for us at Name Tag, Inc., and we want to provide an accessible place for these customers to interact with us.

Name Tag, Inc. management and employees joined together on Saturday, August 13 for their annual summer company picnic. Held at Winchester Park in Murray, Utah, the picnic was an enjoyable outing for everyone.

We all feasted on no shortage of yummy barbecue food and desserts. Delicious!

Because employees’ families were invited, a few children (and adults, may I add) had plenty of fun and recreation playing at the park’s playground and near the pond.

Boys will be boys!

Design Manager Dave Hardy had good things to say about the picnic.

“We love our products, but it’s always nice to get together with fellow employees and their families, and have casual conversation about anything but name tags. To top off the day, our company provided us with the best BBQ in Salt Lake City,” he said.

We’re excited to announce that the sign section on our website, www.nametag.com, will be relaunched next week. In addition to offering our stock supply of the standard 2 x 10 inch, 4 x 12 inch, 6 x 12 inch, and 6 x 6 inch sign sizes, we now also offer two kinds of custom signs:

1. text only, and

2. text and graphics

Now you can customize everything you want about the sign: the size, number of text lines, and the graphics. You want it? We can make it.

Good thing, too, since we don’t carry those–especially the dirty looks. But…we will be bringing an education-only section to our website very soon.

Educators were encouraged to participate in a survey that we launched in late May. By taking the short survey, participants received 10 percent off their next order, and had the chance to win $1,000 credit for our products by also “liking” us and leaving a comment on Facebook. The survey ran through Thursday, June 30.

We announced the winner on July 1 on our Facebook page. If you missed it, the lucky gal is Brannin Dorsey. Congratulations, Brannin!

The information our education customers provided through the survey will allow us to better serve them and all our customers. The survey results will be analyzed this month, and by August, we will launch a part of our website, www.nametag.com, solely devoted to the education industry.

It’s been two months since I was hired here at Name Tag, Inc.

My name is Ashley Smith, and I work as the Community Manager at this fine company. I hail from the Biggest Little City in The World (that happens to be Reno, Nevada). Here at Name Tag, Inc., I am applying my education from Southern Utah University, where I studied my way to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication in 2007.

I really enjoy what I do at Name Tag, Inc. I get to sink my teeth (ouch!) into all sorts of fun stuff: social media (Facebook and Twitter, for example), website copy (Name Tag, Inc. and Personalized Ribbons, for example), blog and newsletter writing (obviously), customer relations (that’s you!), and much more. Yeah, I’m a happy woman.

But do you remember the first few weeks at your job(s)? It’s always like drinking from a fire hose, huh? Everything’s new. New coworkers. New office culture. New rules. New responsibilities. It’s a lot to take in, and you feel so vulnerable. It’s easy to compare yourself with the oldies. It’s a delicate balance–satisfying your personal work style, pleasing your supervisors, doing your job correctly, fitting in. What a transition!

Oh, not to mention, you have to learn everything about whatever you’re creating/producing/selling. And, well, that just carries with it a sure thing called stress.

Here at Name Tag, Inc., we just happen to create/produce/sell name tags, name badges, lanyards, ribbons, name plates, signs, and kitchen sinks! Okay, not the sinks, but we do a lot. And I will admit that I feel like I’ve gone through the new employee fire, smoldering while trying to remember it all. But just how a baby crawls before it walks, I’m reminding myself to take it slow, and that it’s okay to not know everything. However, I have retained quite a bit of this industry so far, and my eyes have been opened to what exactly happens at our office here in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Each additional impression I get builds upon the one before, and I know a lot more now than my first idea of the mere name tag. At first I thought that sure, we sold a few different kinds of name tags and other things you can slap a name on. But since then, I’ve realized it’s a lot more involved. For example, just within the name tag product line, we offer eight variations of the Classic Name Tag. Eight! And don’t forget our ribbons. We have stock ribbons, custom ribbons, full color ribbons, imprinted ribbons, rosette ribbons. We have ribbons for just about any event!

You see what I mean? There’s a lot going on here. And I just scratched the surface. But this place runs like a well-oiled machine. Our departments work together seamlessly. First, there’s customer service. They always receive raving reviews from our customers for their friendly and helpful demeanor. Then there’s the design department. They do remarkable work by creating
text and logos to go on our products. And of course there’s the production department. They make the magic happen! They work efficiently and effectively to give the customers exactly what they want. But then a product isn’t any good unless it gets to the customer. And that’s where our shipping department comes in. They ensure our customers receive their order on time and just the way they want it. But somebody’s got to get the word out about all of this, and now you got our computer-communication-savvy marketing department. And none of this is even possible for existence without the upper management, Clyde, Marilyn, and Gary Coller.

Time has been the best teacher for me here. I learn something(s) new everyday. My coworkers have also been invaluable mentors as I make my way through this exciting, impressive operation. I may still be learning the ropes, but they’re secure and I’m holding on tightly.
