It is with sincere sympathy that I write this blog post about a recent donation of ours.
Seven-year-old Daniel Allen of Salt Lake City was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (brain cancer) in 2009. With many ups and downs over these two years, Daniel’s family doesn’t expect him to live much longer.
In preparation for funeral services, Daniel’s grandmother, Deanne Porter, came to Name Tag, Inc. to order remembrance ribbons. Because of the sensitive situation, we chose to donate the ribbons to Deanne and the Allen family. The red ribbons were imprinted with “Daniel Allen,” “Love Each Other,” and “Cancer Sucks!” The last two phrases are commonly said by Daniel.
Daniel’s mother, Lani Allen, shared her sentiments about Daniel:
“Each day is precious and we treasure the time and memories we have. Daniel has inspired us with his attitude and strength. He has taught us all to ‘Love Each Other.’”
We are touched and humbled to be just a small part of Daniel’s difficult journey with cancer. Please read Daniel’s experience at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/danielallen6.
